What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Professional - Yoga, Pilates, Spin, Group Fitness position at Donavan's Wellness Solutions?
As a Fitness Instructor, you will be required to provide cutting-edge group fitness instruction through a variety of challenging yet entertaining, fun classes that promoted fitness and positive self-esteem in a safe environment. You should be able to motivate all participants, regardless of their level of fitness, while promoting our business's interests by encouraging participants to partake in other classes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create fun and creative lesson plans that are appropriate for students of all fitness levels.
- Creating and maintaining a playlist of appropriate music for each class.
- Delivering lessons through the use of modeling and verbal instruction.
- Ensuring that participants use the equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Suggesting tailored exercises for individuals with physical limitations or injuries.
- Tracking attendance at every class.
- Organizing themed classes to attract clients and maintain interest.
- Maintaining a clean and safe workout area.
- Ensuring the sound system and equipment are in excellent condition at all times.
- Follow-up with CEO or Director of Operations on all comments, concerns, and suggestions made by members, residents, resort and day guests.
- Cultivate and maintain a professional attitude and image at all times, demonstrating appropriate speech and behavior, and excellent communication skills
- Arrive 15 minutes before class or sessions starts unless the session requires earlier arrival. Return punctually from breaks and meal periods.
- Maintain helpful, cooperative relations with co-workers.
- Available to work holidays, weekends and evenings as needed.
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Desired
- Minimum one (1) recognized professional certification from the discipline you plan to teach.
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Experience and ability to be intuitive and knowledgeable, responding to the specific needs of each guest and member.
- Ability to read, write and speak conversationally in English using correct pronunciation and grammar.
- Ability to learn, remember and perform all personal training services and fitness classes.
- Willing to travel or take open shifts throughout Napa Valley, ex: Napa, Yountville or Calistoga.
