Summary

Provide students with appropriate in-person and distance or virtual instruction in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Qualifications :

Education / Certification :

Bachelor's degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

Physical Education Teachers : Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate]

Special Knowledge / Skills :

Knowledge of core academic subject assigned

Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning

Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology

Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with student, parents, and colleagues

Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues

Experience :

Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties :

Instructional Strategies

Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences.
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of student assigned and present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency, board policies, and administrative regulations.
Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
Plan and assign work to instructional aide(s) and volunteer(s) and oversee completion.

Student Growth and Development

Provide timely feedback to students and track progress through a variety of methods.

Conduct ongoing assessment and feedback related to student achievement through formal and informal methods.

Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus principal.

Be a positive role model for students and support the goals of the campus and school district.

Classroom Management and Organization

Create an in-person and virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.

Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.

Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.

Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.

Communication

Be available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and / or parents.

Communicate with students or parents on a regular basis via phone or video conference, email, or district-approved website.

Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.

Professional Growth and Development

Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.

Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Certificates Licenses, Registration

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsement for subject and level assigned

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodical, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and responds to questions from administrators, peers, students, parents and the general public.

Mathematical Skills :

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Knowledge of subjects assigned. General knowledge of curriculum and instruction. Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program. Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Varsity Head Volleyball Coach

PRIMARY PURPOSE : Under the direct supervision of the Campus Athletic Coordinator

and the general supervision of the building Principal, the Volleyball coach will supervise and coordinate the implementation of the volleyball program in the high school and corresponding feeder schools with a focus on program development.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education : Bachelor's degree

Experience : Three years Varsity experience and / or training.

High School Head Volleyball Coach Experience Perferred

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES : Instruction

Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in the sport assigned

Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship

Work with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes Program Management

Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis

Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials and facilities

Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all UIL rules

Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation

Work with the Athletic Coordinator and Athletic Director to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements

Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of the coaching program and make changes based on findings Student Management

Accompany and supervise student athletes during athletic competitions in assigned sports on out-of-town trips

Instruct and advise students on NCAA regulations with regard to academic requirements for scholarships and recruiting practices.

Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and while on trips off school property in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook

Encourage, by example and through instruction, sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation Communication

Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers Administration

Assist in selection of equipment and instructional materials

Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required

Maintain a current inventory of all fixed assets within program

Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all campus athletic equipment

Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning of the game

Plan and coordinate Volleyball schedules and in preparing weekly game reports

Conduct weekly grade checks on all powerlifters

Plan and coordinate Volleyball awards

Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations

Adhere to the district's safety policies and procedures

Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business

Must be able to perform the essential functions of walking and interacting with students and / or district employees in the specific work site assigned (classroom or office setting)

Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance

Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Supervise assigned assistant coaches.
