Position Summary:
As a Restaurant Server, you will play a vital role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Your primary responsibilities include taking orders, serving food and beverages, and fulfilling guest requests with efficiency and a friendly demeanor. You will ensure that each guest feels welcomed and valued, providing attentive and personalized service throughout their visit. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized dining area, setting up tables, and assisting with any special requests or dietary needs. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will contribute to the overall success and reputation of our restaurant. By delivering outstanding service and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, you will help ensure that our guests have a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
Essential Functions:
- Provide Expert Knowledge: Answer inquiries about food and beverages, including ingredients, preparation methods, and accompanying items.
- Warm Welcomes: Greet newly seated guests promptly and courteously, adhering to outlet standards.
- Efficient Order Taking: Take drink orders upon greeting guests, deliver beverages, and suggest appetizers.
- Menu Promotion: Effectively merchandise menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
- POS System Proficiency: Accurately input orders into the POS system.
- Hotel Services Awareness: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of hotel services.
- Alcohol Awareness: Follow procedures to prevent guest intoxication.
- Guest Satisfaction: Attend to guest needs during food delivery and check back to ensure satisfaction.
- Plate Presentation: Garnish plates according to menu standards.
- Table Maintenance: Monitor drink levels, remove clutter, and provide extra napkins as needed.
- Billing Accuracy: Total bills and present checks upon request or after the last plate is removed.
- Currency Handling: Ensure accurate exchange of currency.
- Station Cleanliness: Keep the station clean and organized.
- Communication: Keep immediate supervisors informed of any significant issues or unusual matters.
- Beverage Service: Maintain free coffee and tea service throughout the shift.
- Side Work: Perform assigned station side work tasks.
- Sanitation Compliance: Follow all food sanitation regulations, including personal hygiene, food safety, and area cleanliness. Report any infractions immediately.
- Cash Handling Procedures: Adhere to cash handling and check control procedures, including the use of coupons or complimentary items.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
- The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
Education and Experience:
- Previous restaurant experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to stand and walk for a long period of time.
- Ability to carry and lift heavy objects.
- Good oral communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Organization and time management skills.
Compensation: $3.63 Hourly (plus tips)
