We're seeking Utility Person (Kitchen General Cleaner) for our dual property hotel, where you'll provide exceptional service across two distinctive environments. Elevate your career in hospitality with us! Our brand new hotel conveniently located at the Reston Town Center Metrorail Station, the AC Hotel & Residence Inn Reston will open in November 2024 with 267 rooms including a Rooftop Bar and full service restaurant servicing breakfast, full and dinner. The hotel will be equipped with over 10,000 square foot of meeting space, indoor heated pool and state that leave fitness center for a lasting impression on our clients. You will work with our talented team to deliver exceptional events. Utilities responsible for the storage and sanitation of all china, silverware and glassware in the hotel.

Position Summary

Utility Persons (Kitchen General Cleaners) are responsible for the storage and sanitation of all china, silverware and glassware in the hotel.

Essential Functions

Operate dish washing machines.
Ensure dishwasher temperature is within the specified range and the chemicals are properly connected to the machine.
Properly clean and disinfect the dish washing machine.
Sweep and mop floors. Check for broken items on the floor and wet areas that may be hazardous and removes the hazard.
Clean walls, table, racks, sink floor mats and disposal areas.
Clean ovens, hoods, filters, drains, hot boxes, and ceiling vents.
Empty all trashcans.
Perform special cleaning projects as assigned.
Understand and use safety procedures when using all equipment. Understands chemical hazards and follows safety procedures when using chemicals, chemical compounds and cleaning products.
Know correct temperature for washing, rinsing, and pre-soaking of all pots, pans, utensils, plates, and glasses.
Receive deliveries and place stock items in the proper area.
Follow proper sanitation procedures for sanitizing items that are unable to be washed with the dishwasher.
Maintain cleanliness of the loading dock and dumpster area.

Additional Responsibilities

Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.

The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to stand for a long period of time.

Ability to lift heavy objects.
