Lab Assistant - Hiring 3 Shifts

Company Description

DSL is a startup 3rd party clinical reference testing laboratory focusing on the human transplant and regenerative medicine industries. Incorporated in 2021, DSL will be highly regulated testing source for clients who have very limited options for their specific testing needs. Ownership groups are heavily involved in this niche market space and bring a wealth of knowledge and industry connections to spear head this endeavor.

Position Scope

In this role, you'll provide crucial support to laboratory operations while adhering to Nevada state regulations, including NAC (Nevada Administrative Code) restrictions.

Job Duties

• Accession and process specimens according to established protocols
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and analysis
• Operate basic laboratory equipment and instruments
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests and results
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of specimens and materials
• Assist medical technologists and laboratory technicians as needed
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with safety standards
• Follow all laboratory policies and procedures

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent required
• PREFERRED: Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program
• PREFERRED: Current NAC certification for laboratory assistants in Nevada
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and infection control
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication abilities and team-oriented approach
• Basic computer skills for laboratory information systems

NAC Restrictions and Requirements

• Must work under the supervision of a licensed laboratory director, clinical laboratory technologist, or pathologist as per NAC 652.480
• May only perform tasks delegated by and under the supervision of licensed laboratory personnel
• Prohibited from performing complex testing procedures requiring professional judgment
• Cannot interpret test results or provide diagnostic information
• Must maintain continuing education requirements as specified by NAC 652
• Must adhere to all scope of practice limitations as defined in NAC 652.486

General Support:

Work with the entire DSL team to add support in other areas and assist with other company projects and initiatives, as needed.

Support the execution of DSL’s Operating Plan to meet overall business goals and objectives.

Physical Demands

• May require standing for extended periods
• Possible exposure to biological materials and chemicals

Compensation, Benefits and Schedule:

Salary for this position is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. DSL offers benefits (including health, disability, and life insurance) and a generous time off policy.

We are hiring for three shifts (times subject to change):

• Sunday - Thursday, 7am - 3:30pm
• Tuesday - Saturday, 7am - 3:30pm
• Friday - Tuesday, 7am - 3:30pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
