Donut Den is a single-location donut shop in Joliet, Illinois, that local families, businesspeople, and individuals count on for great donuts.
In you, Donut Den has found a reliable, friendly, and hardworking Team Member to help us serve the people and businesses of Joliet with amazing donuts. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that orders are filled, shelves are stocked, facilities are cleaned, and customers are served with the tasty Donut Den donuts they have come to know and love. As a Team Member, you will report to the Manager, working closely with other Team Members and Bakers. You will regularly interface with customers and occasionally with vendors. In your capacity as Team Member, you will:
- Help customers in-store and over the phone.
- Take orders for immediate sale and for future pickup.
- Stock the store shelves and face products.
- Pack orders.
- Operate the cash register.
- Clean equipment daily and maintain a tidy workplace.
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe storeroom.
- Check in deliveries and stock the storeroom.
- Work in a team, coordinating orders with Team Members, Bakers, and management.
- Learn new policies and procedures, guide fellow employees, and lead by example.
- Meet customer expectations by conducting other duties related to production, sales, service, and sanitation.
Hours
- Morning shift typically starts at 4am, 5am, or 6am and day shift typically starts at 7am or 8am.
- Hours may be fewer during the week and longer on weekends.
- Longer hours leading up to, and on holidays including Paczki Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
- Longer hours based on customer demand and large orders.
Education, Experience, and Certification
- Must be a self-starter and able to work at a fast pace independently.
- Food Handler certificate required; if you do not have a certificate, Donut Den will sponsor you.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics
- Must be able to follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with several concrete variables.
- Must be able to perform mental addition and subtraction, copying figures, counting, and recording.
- Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to physically perform medium work exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet, with or without correction, color vision.
- Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and repetitive motions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 48 per week
