We are seeking a Director of Inventory Management to join our leadership team. As the Director of Inventory, you will be responsible for LMA (Leadership Management = Accountability) of the inventory and warehouse teams in TX, NC, NV, and Canada. As the Director of Inventory, you will be expected to have a roll up your sleeves mentality and approach responsibilities with enthusiasm.
Position Overview : The Director of Inventory manages all company inventories, including raw materials, finished goods, and cores, ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient supply chain coordination, and cost-effective operations. The Director of Inventory will leverage their analytical skills, leadership abilities, and technological expertise to maintain optimal inventory levels and drive process improvements. This position works closely with other directors and the COO to assess risk, prevent loss, and support DCU"s mission statement.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
This Position will build an Inventory Team utilizing the respective departments" teams and oversee the daily workflow of all reporting departments, ensuring all deadlines are met.Will oversee and lead Inventory Control position.Interviews, hires, and arranges training for staffProvide constructive and timely performance evaluations.Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.Duties / Responsibilities :
Supply chainVerifies inventory levels by overseeing periodic physical and cycle counts, tracking lost items, and adjusting records.Accomplishes inventory control and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Perform Inventory Cycle counts, adjustments & posting of same.Perform periodic Physical Inventories & reporting of same to accounting.Periodic review of all daily inventory adjustments & posting.Ensure procedures are followed for receiving & put-away of inventory (neatness, organization, items pre-bagged, labeled, etc. for inventory)Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align inventory levels with operational demands.Establishes inventory levels by studying supply usage patterns and forecasts and setting reorder points.Inventories managed : Main, Nevada, North Carolina, ADS, Quad, HMD / NDF, Rebuild, Electronics, Small Parts and Machine ShopSystem Utilization and Reporting :Use Business Central (ERP systems) to track stock, manage orders, and generate reports.Analyze performance metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.Regulatory Compliance and Documentation :Ensure all inventory processes comply with industry standards and regulations.Maintain comprehensive records of inventory transactions, audits, and performance reports.Leadership and Team Development :Supervise and train inventory and warehouse staff on best practices and software tools.Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.Cost and Time Management :Manage inventory-related budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.Prioritize and schedule tasks to meet production deadlines efficiently.Problem-solving and Decision-Making :Address inventory discrepancies, shortages, and surplus issues effectively.Develop and implement solutions to enhance inventory processes and mitigate risks.Qualifications : To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., BC, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards.Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.Experience with lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) inventory practices.Financial acumen for budget management and cost optimization.PI259435932
