Small engine repair technician will diagnose and repair the customer’s equipment problems. Provide routine maintenance, such as: replacing spark plugs, belts, fans, filters and lubricating parts to name a few. The technician may also repair or replace worn, broken, or defective parts and recommend when a part should be replaced. After the repairs are made, they reassemble and reinstall all components. Technician will use a variety of hand, electric and battery-operated tools.
Responsibilities
· Provide a positive representation of the Door County Cooperative and its values
· Proactively assist customers in solving problems with their equipment and defining the needs of the specific equipment
· Ensure all equipment in possession for repair or maintenance is accounted for and has a current work order or plan for pick up/delivery
· Responsible for completion of the required paper work accurately and in a timely manner
· Follow all OSHA and state mandated rules for equipment and safety of self and other employees
· Report any and all needs for supplies and inventory to respective manager
· Complete daily paperwork to keep department running smoothly
· Pickup and delivery of equipment needing repairs from our customers
· Unloading trucks with delivery of product for Rio Creek True Value
· Maintain a clean and organized work area in the shop and warehouse areas
Additional Duties
· Perform other duties as assigned by manager or division manager
· Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the business as needed: answering the phone, assisting customers at the sales counters, parts look up, assembling new equipment
· Perform preventive maintenance (and repairs as needed) on equipment from Warehouse and Rental division
Qualifications
· High school degree or equivalent
· Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders in excess of 50 feet, and maintain a safe work area
· Meet obligations in in regarding to completion of necessary OSHA required training
· Obtain Forklift Operators License and ability to operate powered industrial truck / forklift
