What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Counselor - Patient Financial Services - Full Time position at Door County Medical Center?
The Patient Financial Counselor counsels and assists patients/guarantors in finding ways to meet their financial obligations for services provided at any of the Door County Medical Center departments. Notifies insurance companies of admissions to begin the pre-certification process and supply information about the patient, turning it over to Utilization Review for clinical information. Will work with providers and their staff, as well as pharmaceutical companies to meet the needs of these patients.
Minimum Education: Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
Minimum Related Years of Experience (per minimum education): Two years healthcare or insurance experience.
Credential/Licensure Required: Certified Application Counselor within 180 days of employment.
Shift: Working 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday.
