JOB TITLE: Warehouse Worker
JOB PURPOSE:
The warehouse worker to carry out the daily operations of the shop and warehouse building garage doors, springs, track and electric operators and stage and assist field personnel.
KEY TASKS:
Perform all of the following duties while adhering to Door Tech’s safety rules and procedures.
Primary Job Functions:
Minimum skills
· Able to use a router, drill, impact wrench, skill saw, nail gun, cutting torch and other power and hand tools
· Safely work off a ladder and scissors lift
· Use a forklift (must have experience or successfully complete training)
· Read, understand and accurately carry out instructions on work orders, drawings and pick lists
· Ability to measure materials and accurately count and assemble parts
· Report to work on time with proper work clothing and boots.
· Self-starter.
Daily Duties
· Build garage doors, springs, track and electric operators and stage for field personnel
· Cut garage door sections with a skill saw
· Use a router to cut openings for windows in garage door sections and set glazing
· Check all materials for accuracy and damage
· Select proper materials to keep waste to a minimum
· Return extra materials to the proper place
· Assist with unloading service trucks and materials trailers
· Warehouse and worksite housekeeping and security (shovel snow, distribute traction sand, pick up debris, dump garbage cans, sweeping, check shop for safety issues, etc.)
· Build crates and package materials for delivery
· Provide deliveries in a safe and timely manner
· Check daily schedule and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
· Work with shop, field and administrative staff to complete work as assigned
Other Duties
· Organize and maintain hand and power tools
· Yard maintenance, cleaning, painting, workplace housekeeping, etc.
· Assist with preventative maintenance of tools, lifts, forklifts, trailers, trucks and safety inspections
· Ensure trucks and equipment are in proper running order (batteries charged, fuel tanks full, correct oil levels, etc.)
· Receive inventory, check packing lists and put materials away in the proper location
· Assist with annual inventory count and organization
· Attend and participate in all safety meetings and training; watch training videos as required
· Occasionally assist field technicians at various jobsites
Minimum qualifications
High school diploma or GED, valid Alaska driver’s license with clean driving record, over age 18, ability to learn under pressure, good communication and phone skills, ability to operate power tools, basic technical math skills. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
Physical requirements
Frequent heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs) and ability to work off a ladder. Indoor and outdoor work conditions year around. Physical stamina to walk around the floor area. Know how to sort and organize materials.
