About the Team
On the New Verticals team, our mission is building the future of local commerce through expanding our product offerings on the DoorDash platform. Stationed regionally, this team owns new business development by creating deep partnerships with the most coveted local and regional merchants across the US in our Grocery, Convenience, Liquor, Retail, and Flower segments.
You’ll focus on leading the sales cycle and closing partnerships with prospective merchants while promoting the DoorDash brand.
About the Role
We are looking for an Account Executive (AE) to join our New Verticals team. As an Account Executive, you are responsible for bringing on the best local and regional small and mid-size merchants (SMB) onto DoorDash. You will own the complete sales process from start to finish while operating in a transactional deal cycle, leading the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals. In this role, you will creatively engage with prospects while achieving metrics. You will report to the Inside Sales Manager on our New Verticals team, where you'll have direct access to grow your career to the next level.
We expect this role to be flexible, with some time in office and some time remote. You will need the ability to travel as needed for in-person collaboration through training, offsites, team-building events, and other business-related necessities.

- Lead the full sales cycle while closing transactions to attain new business from small to midsize merchants

- Make a high volume of cold calls (80 ) and emails to prospects daily

- You have 3-4 years of experience working in a high volume inside sales environment
- You have experience in Small - Medium (SMB) business to business sales
- You have managed a full sales cycle and have been in a closing or lead generation sales role
- You are genuinely curious about people, local businesses, and technology

- You are creative, persistent, and passionate about sales
- You can navigate sales and internal tools quickly (Salesforce, Outreach, Sales Navigator, Google Apps)
