About the Role
As a Validation Engineer at DoorDash Labs you will play a critical role in verification and validation of our next-generation autonomous delivery robots.
You will report to the Lead of our Systems Engineering team based in San Francisco. This role may be located remotely, but should be prepared for up to 50% travel to test sites in California, Arizona, Michigan, and Ohio.

- Be part of an exciting effort to develop and manufacture an autonomous delivery robot
- Work with our robotics hardware team to develop and execute engineering tests
- Validate the electrical, mechanical, thermal, safety, and sensing performance of the robot across a challenging breadth of environments
- Improve robot reliability through rigorous testing and troubleshooting efforts
- Work with leaders and engineers across DevOps, Software, Firmware, Controls, AI and Ops to plan, track, follow up and resolve issues
- Lead test reviews and report out on test program progress
We're excited about you because…
- B.S., M.S., or PhD. in engineering, e.g. robotics, mechanical, electrical or computer science
- 8 years of industry experience working in automotive or mechatronics engineering testing & validation
- Hands-on experience with CAN bus, Ethernet data logging & network analysis tools
- Experience with environmental testing such as thermal, shock, and ingress testing
- A track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects and programs
- A working understanding of vehicle mechanicals and electronics
- An interest in or working knowledge of autonomous vehicle perception systems
