What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Product Designer, DoubleDash position at DoorDash USA?
About the Team
At DoorDash, our customers are at the center of our product strategy and we believe that an amazing customer experience is the key to our success. The Consumer team designs the mobile apps and website that millions of customers use every day to order meals and more from their favorite local merchants.
Within the Consumer team, the New Modes group envisions different ways to enjoy the convenience of DoorDash beyond delivery, such as scheduled orders, group ordering, DoubleDash, making a reservation, gifting and dine-in experience at the restaurant. This team is defining and driving the intersection of the physical and digital experiences. If you are passionate about building new use cases and driving 0>1 opportunities, this role is for you!
About the Role
We're in search of a Product Designer to become a key member of our innovative New Modes team. You will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of the consumer experience by helping customers order from more than one place through our DoubleDash product experience. Often customers have the need to solve their multiple needs at a time and DoubleDash enables that for them. Whether it’s ordering lunch and coffee together or dinner with groceries, there’s plenty of moments where DoorDash can support multiple needs in one order. We envision a world where shopping doesn’t need to be one order at a time. With DoubleDash, a Dasher can help our customers with all of their needs through our efficient logistics.
This position is open for candidates in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York and will report to the Sr. Design Manager of New Modes within our Consumer design organization. This role will have a hybrid work model, with a mix of in-office and remote work.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Contribute directly to DoorDash's consumer product strategy and define the future of our service.
- Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces, working with your team to understand the opportunity, and then chart a path forward.
- Explore and refine your design solutions through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual design.
- Influence your team's approach to product development, shaping the team's culture, processes, and practices.
- Improve the lives of millions of DoorDash customers every day.
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 5 years of work experience and a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to maintain a high bar for craft at scale and track record of leading new initiatives and achieving success in a team environment.
- You think of yourself as a craftsperson pushing the envelope on quality, usually find yourself sweating over the lowest level of details and deeply care about elevating the overall experience.
- You excel at storytelling and convey complex topics clearly and thoroughly to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- You’re a problem solver, use a first principles approach and aren’t afraid to try new things to create the future.
