Catering Assistant

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Catering assistants/servers must have a basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation, knife handling skills, reading and math skills, and kitchen equipment; ability to measure ingredients accurately, and understand and carry out directions. You must be able to multitask, work quickly despite being under stress, and communicate well to ensure all orders are satisfactory to customers. You'll be working in our commercial kitchen, our retail location at Country Sliced Ham and Cafe, making deliveries to clients and serving at banquets and events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
Washing utensils and dishes making sure they are stored appropriately.
Working in the kitchen area preparing all of the food.
Sorting and packaging to go orders and caterings.
Disposal of all refuse appropriately and recycling properly
Cleaning the food prep equipment and all surfaces as well as all kitchen tools and areas.
Available and willing to work evenings, special events, weekends/school holiday breaks and other shifts as needed.
Punctual and dependable. Ability to follow instruction from the manager, and complete tasks in a timely, efficient manner as assigned.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required. Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, or kneel, and to move freely throughout the workplace on a continual basis required.
A minimum education level of high school diploma preferred. Customer service within the food service industry experience preferred. Must be organized, dependable, flexible and reliable.
Experience: Food handling: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification: Food Handler Certification Required
Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving Record Required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
