Job Information
The Logistics Analyst is responsible for logistics solutions that improve efficiency and utilization in the network. Working with Operations and Information Technology, the Logistics Analyst will understand and apply the business rules and will develop opportunities that support cost saving initiatives. Other data analysis will be performed as needed by the Logistics team, which requires management of databases.
Role & Responsibility
Analyze freight and service costs and compare to contracts
- Coordination of payment to third party logistics providers, which include requisition input and coordination of purchase order to invoice receipt.
- Compile and analyze logistics freight costs for Bobcat North America -Coordinate and compile financial monthly logistics costs
- Review and approve freight invoices rejected by third party freight payment vendor
- Analyze contract carrier freight rates to identify cost savings improvements and maintenance contract rates in the Doosan transportation management system.
- Coordinate with the third party logistics provider to publish required weekly and quarterly KPI's.
- Track cost savings, cost avoidance and team progress.
- Provide back-up responsibilities for MIT Planners/Schedulers when needed, to ensure continuous and uninterrupted flow of the planning, shipping & invoicing of shipments.
Job Requirement
Education & Qualification: Business Administration - Bachelors Degree
Experience: 2>5 Years Travel Standard: <10%
1-4 years comparable work experience, internships, or studies preferred.
Experience Description: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
Knowledge & Skill: Fundamental understanding or desire to learn transportation, supply chain and logistics concepts is required
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- Intermediate experience with Access and Excel required
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint required
- Consistently demonstrates ability to learn and use necessary tools
- Ability to follow process and standard procedures required
