Some of the responsibilities you will own in this role:
As a Veterinary Internist, you will play a crucial role in our hospital, providing expert medical care and consultation services to our patients. You will collaborate closely with our team of veterinarians and specialists to diagnose and treat complex medical conditions, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Conduct comprehensive medical examinations and diagnostic evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions
- Perform advanced diagnostic procedures, including ultrasound, endoscopy, and biopsy
- Provide consultation services to referring veterinarians and collaborate on patient care
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary internal medicine and contribute to the ongoing education of our team
- Provide expert internal medicine consultations and develop treatment plans for complex medical cases, including gastrointestinal, endocrine, respiratory, and other systemic disorders
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary team, referring veterinarians, and clients to ensure the best medical outcomes
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to perform endoscopy, ultrasound, and other specialized procedures
- Offer mentorship and guidance to general practitioners and technical staff, fostering a culture of growth and learning
- Maintain current knowledge of advancements in veterinary internal medicine and pursue continuing education opportunities
- Board Certification, Board Eligibility, or Completion of Residency Training in Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM or ECVIM).
- Expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of internal medicine cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both pet owners and colleagues
- Dedication to providing the highest level of patient care and client service
