Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Eyewear Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will assist optometrists in providing high-quality eye care to patients. We are open to both experienced Specialists and Entry Level Candidates! In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, guidance, and assistance to customers in selecting eyewear that best suits their vision needs, style preferences, and comfort. You will also ensure the proper fitting and adjustment of glasses and work collaboratively with the optometry team to create a seamless customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
- Drive profitable store sales by fostering a positive retail selling culture using effective customer relationship skills.
- Team Player-helping out with answering phones, pretesting for the doctor, assisting with other operational duties to help the store be successful daily.
- Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions, style the patients to look their best, and to fit their prescription optically.
- Utilize optical prescription in conjunction to the patient's visual requirements.
- Recommend specific lenses, such as plastic (CR39), polycarbonate, trivex lenses to suit patient needs and lifestyle. Recommending lens coatings such as non-glare (anti-reflective coating), photo fusion, scratch coating, polarized lenses, etc. to suit patient needs and lifestyle. Recommend additional pairs of eyeglasses/contact lenses that suit their lifestyle and needs.
- Assist patients in styling and selection of frames, and coordinate frames to prescription and patient needs.
- Perform appropriate optical related measurements and fitting. Taking PD measurements and segment height for bifocals/progressive lenses.
- Ensure the store is effectively merchandised and presented.
- Keeping the store clean and well organized.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided!
- Knowledge of physiology related to eye care is a plus.
- Previous Sales or Customer Service experience is required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and staff.
- Good attendance and ability to work in a team environment is a MUST.
