Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher

Dorothy’s Discovery Daycare Center (DDDC) is looking for an experienced, professional, dedicated, dependable and nurturing Assistant Teacher to work in our infant /toddler classroom; ages birth - 2 1/2 years of age.

The candidate will be responsible to assist the lead teacher with creating lesson plans and activities based on child’s development and how children learn, the individual strengths and interests of each child, and each child’s family and community cultures. Ensure the daily care of every child by following all State of Michigan licensing guidelines, Program to Quality Assessment standards (PQA) and implementing all company standards. Maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized. Create relationships with all families in their classroom. And become a part of a team, working with other teachers who are just as passionate about children as you are.

We are most interested in candidates who do have the passion to watch children grow and learn as we do. We are most interested in talking to applicants that have:

• Experience in an infant or toddler classroom and helping to create lesson plans based around child’s development.
• Experience with High Scope is desired or a related curriculum.
• Experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• Possess an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or a related field is preferred.
• Impeccable references and a proven track record of caring for and nurturing children.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work. Be available for at least 35 hours a week.
• Have an interest in long-term employment for continuity of care for the children and families.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.77 - $17.59 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
