DYE RANGE OPERATOR:
The Dye Range Operator is responsible for managing daily operations and production in the dye department. This includes executing the production schedule as directed by the Department Manager, monitoring dye range equipment operations and ensuring production setpoints are maintained while resolving any problems encountered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all jobs on the dye line are performed correctly. Be able to perform any job as needed. This includes but is not limited to sew-on, operation of tanks, pumps, lines, dye applicator, dryer, and folding frame / roll-up equipment. Be able to weigh dye and operate lift trucks.
- Assist the Department Manager in the daily operation of the shift, with an emphasis on safety, production efficiency, and quality improvement.
- Maintaining accurate reports of production data, including volume produced, specific dispositions for dyed production, and any deviations from standard processes.
- Inspect dyed rolls, maintain required reports, and perform required computer data entry.
- Assist with on-the-job training of all new line employees.
- Provide directions/instructions/guidance/ to all line personnel.
- When needed, assist with shade matching on carpet by visual inspection.
- When needed, assist with range production scheduling by color sequencing and / or width and line speed while keeping rush shop orders as priority.
- Comply with Dorsett plant safety rules.
- Follow all ISO 9000 quality procedures.
Education:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); 3-6 months experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum - previous manufacturing work experience; preferably in a carpet dye house. Experience in one or more of the following is beneficial - machine operator, dryer operator, utility, dye weigher.
Other Requirements:
- Self-Starter, ability to take action without direction.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations.
This is a dayshift position Monday - Thursday 7am-5pm; (Friday as needed) with overtime required to meet customer demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $18.98 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
