**Job Summary**

- Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture, clinical, and/or laboratory format.
- Assess student learning using appropriate methods.
- Demonstrate effectiveness with strong outcomes in Student Retention, Student Success, and Student Attendance.
- Conduct an engaging classroom lecture and/or lab based on the course outline.
- Motivate students by demonstrating sensitivity for concerns and actively involving students in classroom discussions and/or activities.
- Advise students on attendance, grades, and issues to ensure successful completion of their course.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
- Must have at least an associate's degree, diploma, or certificate in HVAC/R or engineering from a post-secondary institution accredited by agencies recognized by the U.S. DOE.
- Prior experience teaching is preferred.
- Require a degree, diploma, or certificate in the field taught from a post-secondary institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. DOE and two years' documented experience in the subject taught or three years of significant job-related, documented experience for those instructors without specific education in the field.
**Certifications Required:**
- Certification from a recognized certification agency in the field taught must be obtained within 120 days of first day teaching class at Dorsey Schools and maintained according to the certification agency guidelines.
**Working/Physical Demands:**
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit for extended periods of time; and have sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a phone, computer keyboard, and other office equipment.
- Evening or weekend hours may be necessary to meet deadlines and meet with prospective students.
