The Instructor is entrusted with imparting the knowledge and skills each student needs to be successful by providing quality delivery of assigned courses while ensuring that all students achieve competency in the course objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture, clinical, and/or laboratory format based on the approved course outline.
- Evaluate and resolve student questions, issues, and problems.
- Maintain a motivating, fair, and impartial attitude towards students.
- Demonstrate creativity, dedication, and professionalism.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an associate's degree, diploma, or certificate in HVAC/R or engineering from a post-secondary institution accredited by agencies recognized by the U.S. DOE in the field to be taught.
- One year's teaching or field experience in the subject to be taught, or served a documented apprenticeship with a licensed HVAC/R journeyman.
- Certification from a recognized certification agency in the field taught must be obtained within 120 days of first day teaching class at Dorsey Schools and maintained according to the certification agency guidelines.
