What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Assembler position at Dorsey Metrology International Inc?
The ideal candidate will possess fine attention to detail, math, willingness to learn, and patience with mechanical ability. This person will be responsible for assembling small and delicate parts/products using basic hand tools and effective motor skills/mechanical dexterity. This person will utilize mathematics to determine the appropriate sizing of components required for such assembly and perform basic quality inspections of completed parts to ensure they meet specifications. They will utilize prints/schematics to complete assembly to desired results. The candidate must be able to lift 45 lbs. Must have own transportation, a clean driver’s license is a plus. It is a 40-hour work week from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Summary
As a Mechanical Assembler/Assembly Apprentice, you will be integral to the manufacturing process, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hand tools to assemble components with precision. Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, your role involves interpreting blueprints and schematics, ensuring quality through the use of calipers and micrometers. The organization expects you to demonstrate strong math skills and a commitment to safety, particularly in operating power tools and forklifts. Your hands-on experience will contribute to efficient production and the overall success of our manufacturing team.
