Commercial Service Technician – Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Commercial Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality service for commercial tire users, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and professionally. This position involves performing a variety of tire and related services while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
As a Commercial Service Technician, your duties will include:
- Commercial Tire Services: Dismounting, mounting, and balancing commercial, OTR (off-the-road), industrial, and light truck tires.
- Tire Maintenance: Inflating tires to the proper PSI based on load requirements and diagnosing repairable tire conditions to perform necessary repairs.
- Roadside Assistance: Responding to service calls promptly, diagnosing issues, and performing on-site repairs or replacements as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
- Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance: Cleaning, maintaining, and conducting routine checks on service equipment, tools, and assigned company vehicles, ensuring all remain in top condition.
- Documentation and Reporting: Completing accurate service tickets and required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to OSHA regulations, wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and following all safety protocols, including the use of tire cages and other safety equipment.
Requirements and Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (subject to insurance approval).
- Physical capability to lift 80 pounds or more and stand for extended periods (8 hours).
- Availability to work a 5-day schedule (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM), with overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
- Willingness to perform night and weekend service calls on a rotating basis.
- Ability to use handheld devices for capturing photos and entering customer information.
- Strong communication skills to promptly report issues or questions to supervisors.
- Commitment to working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Compliance with background checks, drug testing, and a DOT physical.
- Willingness to obtain a TWIC card.
- Ability to attend occasional training sessions, including on weekends.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in commercial tire service or a related field is a plus. Training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable handling physical tasks that require strength and stamina.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
