GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Food Services and/or designee, takes lunch tickets and maintains paperwork associated with the lunch count. Performs Point of Service functions (verifies reimbursement components qualifying for free or reduced meals), and performs other duties directly related to this job description.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects tickets and money from students and processes/maintains meal counts for the breakfast and lunch programs. Checks for accuracy of meals claimed compared to meal applications of file.
Performs Point of Service functions as required by the Department of Education.
Keeps simple records on a daily basis and records eligibility of students on a daily recap sheet that is submitted to the front office.
Counts money and prepares bank deposit slips on a daily basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to see for the purpose of reading printed matter and observing students, with or without vision aids; ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels; ability to communicate so others will clearly understand normal conversation.
Basic knowledge mathematical functions.
Skill in working with children and the school community.
Professional demeanor that establishes a desirable example for children.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Light physical effort; may stand for extended periods of time; ability to reach in all directions.
Low to moderate stress level.
Primarily indoor cafeteria environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work is predominately inside and generally provides protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.

Daily contact with students, teachers, all school and District staff.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
