Procurement Overview:

The Global Procurement Function is a key enabler of the top and bottom-line performance of Petmate.  Our Procurement function is comprised of professionals positioned around the world to partner with business leaders to ensure our customers’ expectations are exceeded, and our suppliers view Petmate as a customer of choice. We are looking for the right people to help us drive our Indirect Procurement organization to the next level.

Role Overview: Indirect Sourcing Manager

To optimize our Indirect Procurement sourcing approach, we are looking for an individual with a broad range of experience in Indirect Procurement, capable of managing various categories without being limited to one specific area. This role is critical in driving strategic sourcing and procurement processes, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for a wide range of indirect procurement categories.
• Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and contracts to ensure favorable terms.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Utilize strong analytical skills to assess procurement data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic changes.
• Lead cross-functional teams to drive procurement projects and initiatives.
• Drive year over year cost (value) improvement > 5%
• Negotiate long term and blanket contracts.
• Research vendors to determine the best options and make recommendations by evaluating total cost and quality of indirect materials and services.
• Source suppliers, develop suppliers, and build mutual beneficial relationships with suppliers.
• Develop strategic sourcing / purchasing plans that support the future profitability of the business.
• Analyze current spend and find areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures.
• Work closely with operations and finance to develop and implement MRO inventory management system.
• Find creative cost-outs in purchasing policies and with vendor processes.
• Highly involved with sourcing and procuring capital equipment, integral of capital investment team.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for highest spend, greatest complexity, and most critical/strategic categories.
• Ensure tactical execution of purchasing activities to meet routine business needs.
• Provide direction and support to teams for initiatives critical to the business.
• Identify and leverage company-wide spending opportunities.
• Develop implementation strategy, responsibility assignments, communication plans, and timelines.
• Conduct thorough spend analysis, develop methodology and metrics tools to track progress.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to gather category requirements and specifications from departments and category subject matter experts.

Must-Have Qualifications & Requirements:

• Extensive experience in Indirect Procurement, with a proven track record of managing multiple categories simultaneously.
• Experience in contract management
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional projects.
• Able to lead projects to their appropriate conclusion

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, and minimum 3 years of experience in indirect procurement
• Experience in Professional Services such as (but not limited to): IT, Marketing and HR. 
• Experience with plant related spend such as MRO, facility spend, waste management, and contractor services.
