POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Mold Setter/Process Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing machine changeovers and maintaining production quality for various plastic manufacturing processes, including injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in the plastics manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Changeovers:
- Perform mold changes and machine setups for injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding equipment.
- Ensure proper installation of molds, dies, and tooling to meet production specifications.
- Adjust machine parameters to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Process Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor machine performance during production runs, ensuring smooth operation.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and adjust settings to maintain product quality.
- Identify and resolve process-related issues, such as cycle time variations, part defects, and material flow problems.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect and test initial runs to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain records of process settings and any changes made during production.
- Collaborate with the quality team to continuously improve product quality.
- Safety and Maintenance:
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in mold setting and process optimization.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus but not required.
Skills Required:
- Familiarity with machine operation and setups, preferably in plastics manufacturing (injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding).
- Ability to perform quick and efficient machine changeovers to minimize downtime.
- Basic understanding of machine calibration and troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance in a manufacturing setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer screen in an office environment. Ability to stand, sit and bend and spend 50% or more time out on a production floor. A moderate tolerance of loud noises if needed to go out into the production facility.
