The HVAC Field Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of HVAC field technicians and ensures the proper functioning of heating, ventilations, and air conditioning systems across various job sites. What You’ll Do:
- Team Management & Leadership
- Supervise and lead a team of HVAC technicians and installers.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations for field staff.
- Ensure team adherence to company standards, safety regulations and best practices.
- Schedule and assign daily work for field technicians.
- Operations & Scheduling
- Oversee daily operations to ensure all projects are executed efficiently and within deadlines.
- Manage service schedules for preventative maintenance, installations, and repairs.
- Coordinate resources (equipment, tools, vehicles) needed for fieldwork.
- Customer Relations & Support
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to HVAC services.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the sales team to address customer needs and expectations.
- Quality Control & Compliance
- Monitor the quality of work completed by field technicians to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Ensure HVAC installations and repairs meet safety codes and industry regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits for quality assurance.
- Inventory & Equipment Management
- Oversee inventory of HVAC equipment, parts, and materials required for jobs.
- Ensure field technicians have the necessary tools and supplies for efficient work completion.
- Budgeting & Cost Control
- Track project costs and manage resources to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Develop and manage budgets for service operations and field-related activities.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain reports on field operations, including job status, employee performance, and client feedback.
- Document work orders, service histories, and maintenance logs.
- Safety
- Enforce safety protocols in all aspects of field operations.
- Conduct safety briefings and ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Step in as a technical resource when complex problems arise in the field.
- Provide guidance and support to technicians for troubleshooting HVAC systems.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience
- Several years experience in the HVAC industry
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, diagnostics, installation, and repair
- Driving Requirements
- Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
- Must have positive points on state driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
- Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
- All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
- Physical Requirements
- Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
