Network Engineer/ Architect

Scope of Work: The Network Engineer will provide expertise in routing, switching, and firewall technologies to support the client's network infrastructure. The engagement will focus on maintaining, optimizing, and securing the network operations across multiple locations in the hospitality/food and beverage industry.
Responsibilities:

1. Firewall Administration:
1. Manage and maintain Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls, ensuring optimal security and performance.
2. Implement firewall policies, VPN configurations, and threat prevention strategies.
2. Network Operations and Support:
1. Conduct root cause analysis for network incidents and implement corrective actions.
2. Escalation point for network related major incidents
3. Perform regular maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and system backups.
4. Aruba EdgeConnect or SilverPeak experience a plus
3. Documentation and Reporting:
1. Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configurations, and technical documentation.
2. Provide regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and project status.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
1. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and third-party vendors.
2. Provide technical guidance and training to internal staff as needed.
5. Industry Compliance and Best Practices:
1. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for network security and data protection.
2. Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in networking technologies.

Deliverables:

• Optimized and maintained Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewall policies.
• Detailed network documentation, including diagrams and configuration records.
• Reports on network performance, incidents, and resolution metrics.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Cisco and Aruba networking technologies, including routers, switches, and Meraki solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewall technologies, including policy management and VPN configurations.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, QoS).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Terms and Conditions:

• The contractor will adhere to the client's network security policies and protocols.
• Regular updates and progress reports will be shared with the client's project manager.
• Any additional tools or resources required for the engagement will be subject to prior approval by the client.

• Successful implementation and optimization of network infrastructure solutions.
• Maintenance of high network availability and security standards.
• Delivery of all required documentation and reports within agreed timelines.
