Part-Time Drinks Assistant
Food & Wine is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented candidate to assist the drinks department, working closely with the wine team to manage F&W’s wine room, set up tastings, and assist with photo shoot production, among other tasks. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills and a basic understanding of wine and spirits, as well as a strong interest in editorial drinks content. This is an in-person role based in our New York offices.

Start date: 3/1/2024
End date: 6 months with the potential to extend
Hourly Rate: $20

Responsibilities
- Manage Food & Wine’s wine room, including calling in and unpacking samples, and categorizing and organizing the collection
- Set up and participate in wine tastings for articles
- Coordinate props for drinks-related photo and video shoots
- Assist the executive wine editor and special projects editor with administrative tasks
- Assist in digital drinks publishing including building stories in the CMS; there will be opportunities to pitch and write for foodandwine.com, where applicable
- Minimum 1–2 years experience in the wine service, wine retail, restaurant, or media industries
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and multitask at a fast pace
- Energetic, well-organized, and proactive team player
- Strong grasp of Google Sheets
- Knowledge, experience, or interest in wine and the culinary world
- Applicants with WSET or wine business experience will be prioritized
