Job Summary:
The Estimator/Project Manager will be responsible for preparing and managing bids, overseeing job progress, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. This position requires strong industry knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in clearing and dirt excavation, and the ability to work effectively both in the field and in an office setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid and Estimator Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid packages and estimate costs for upcoming projects, ensuring accurate and competitive proposals.
- Project Setup in Management System: Set up and organize successful bids in our project management system, ensuring that all project details are accurately captured.
- Job Tracking and Monitoring: Track the progress of active jobs to ensure timelines and budgets are adhered to, identifying and addressing any potential issues promptly.
- Weekly Production Reports: Compile data from various sources (field reports, equipment usage, labor logs) to generate detailed weekly production reports that reflect project status and performance.
- Drone Operations for Site Monitoring: Fly a drone over job sites weekly to capture high-quality aerial footage, upload data, and process accurate job status reports for analysis and decision-making.
- Equipment Efficiency Tracking: Monitor and report on the efficiency of equipment, tracking load counts, idle time, and other metrics to optimize resource allocation.
- Bid Tracking: Monitor job progress against the initial bid, including tracking fuel usage, labor hours, and production rates, ensuring projects remain within budget and on schedule.
- Pay Application Assistance: Assist with preparing and submitting pay applications to engineers, ensuring timely and accurate processing for project payments.
Requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in clearing and dirt excavation projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management software and familiarity with construction estimation tools. Experience flying drones for job site data collection is a plus.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple tasks, track project progress, and generate accurate reports.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members, engineers, and clients.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential issues before they arise and offer solutions to keep projects on track.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a variety of environments, including outdoor job sites, and to operate drone and other equipment as necessary.
