We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Restaurant Server to join the team at DoubleTree. As a Restaurant Server, you will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and ensuring a memorable dining experience for hotel guests. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
What You'll Do
- Greet and escort guests to their tables in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
- Present menus, answer questions about the menu, and make recommendations based on guests’ preferences.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and promptly, entering them into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure guests’ needs are met throughout the meal, checking in regularly to ensure satisfaction.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns in a courteous and professional manner, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including clearing tables and resetting them for new guests.
- Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Follow health and safety guidelines, including food handling, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
- Upsell food, beverages, and specials to guests in a manner that enhances their dining experience.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the dining area.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens, to provide accurate information to guests.
- Perform side work and other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager or supervisor.
What You Bring
- Previous experience as a server in a restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality environment preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for providing an exceptional guest experience.
- Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage pairings is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and carry trays or heavy items.
