The DoubleTree Rochester is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our team.
We’re seeking a qualified and resourceful human resources generalist to support our department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations.
The human resources generalist will have administrative and strategic responsibilities and manage important functions such as staffing, payroll & benefits administration, training and development, labor relations compliance, and benefits.

Job Responsibilities:
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies.
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and initiating employee engagement activities.
- Monitor and assign brand standards and other hotel-related training.
- Facilitate training as needed.
- Provide on boarding for new employees by providing information packets, reviewing company policies and payroll information, explaining benefit programs, and obtaining document signatures.
- Prepare payroll by calculating and entering pay into ADP Workforce Now, distributing checks, and maintaining payroll records.
- Maintain human resources records for employees by recording the hiring, transfer, termination, change in job classifications, and merit increase dates, as well as tracking vacation, sick, and personal time.
- Administer employee benefits programs, medical insurance, and disability programs by advising employees of eligibility, providing application information, helping with form completion, verifying submission, and notifying employees of approvals.
- Document and track human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Accomplish human resources department and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- With HR Director, ensures compliance with labor regulations.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proven experience in HR
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g., ADP & Talent Acquisition software) will be a plus
- Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach
- Flexibility
- Presentation skills
- Administrative writing and reporting skills
- Additional HR training (e.g., SHRM-CP) will be a plus
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and work equivalent
- One year of administrative support experience

In accordance with New York State’s Pay Transparency Law (New York State Labor Law Section 194-b) which requires private employers with four (4) or more employees to include a range of pay for all advertised jobs, promotion, or transfer opportunities. This position pays between $25.00 per hour and $27.00 per hour dependent on experience.
