Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Torrance South Bay in Torrance, CA is looking for Utility Engineer to join our team. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and reliable with a flexible availability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain guestrooms, public space and back of the house areas in good conditions by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering
- Ensure we have an attractive and well-maintained hotel
- Ensure safety regulations are met at all times
- Ensure detailed record keeping is maintained as required for logs and inspection sheets
- Provide exceptional customer service
Qualifications
- Experience working in maintenance, hotel experience preferred
- Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry
- Able to use hand and mechanical tools to ensure safety and completion of tasks
- Basic English language communication in order to communicate with coworkers and guests and fully comprehend job assignments
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders for extended periods of time, with the ability to reach, often times overhead
- Ability to grasp, lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs., occasionally waist high, and to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of the shift
- Must have flexible availability to include weekends, holidays and graveyard shifts
