BASIC PURPOSE
The Restaurant Busser plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Clearing and resetting tables efficiently and promptly after guests depart.
• Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the dining area, including floors, tables, chairs, and any other surfaces.
• Assisting servers in delivering food and beverages to tables when necessary.
• Preparing tables for new guests, ensuring they are properly set with clean utensils, napkins, and condiments.
• Assisting in stocking and replenishing supplies such as silverware, glassware, and condiments.
• Provide assistance to guests with inquiries and special requests courteously and promptly.
• Collaborating with kitchen staff and servers to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
• Following all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
• Communicating effectively with team members and management to address any issues or concerns.
• Perform any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Assists other restaurant personnel when needed.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as needed.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation guidelines. Hold a current Food Handler Card.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and dedicated to providing exceptional service to guests.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.
• Lifting thirty (30) pounds maximum.
• Constant standing & walking required.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
