Reports to: General Manager of the Hotel, VP or Regional Director of Operations, President of Management Company, Owners
Responsible for all Human Resource functions at the hotel:
Ensure the hotel is fully staffed with qualified, well-trained, and motivated team members while upholding a culture of excellence and guest-first mentality.
Maintain a clear understanding of all employment laws, brand standards, and company policies.
Develop strategic plans to support recruitment, retention, employee engagement, training, and compliance.
Lead hotel-based efforts in talent acquisition including job postings, candidate screenings, interview coordination, onboarding, and new hire orientations.
Work with the General Manager and Executive Committee on staffing forecasts and workforce planning.
Participate in all Monthly Forecasting Calls with focus on staffing levels, labor cost projections, and any HR-related concerns.
Support the General Manager and Corporate Team in the preparation of the annual Budget, including compensation planning and benefits forecasting.
Implement all HR policies and procedures in accordance with company standards and local/state/federal laws.
Provide support and guidance to hotel leadership and associates on employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Coordinate and track all employee training including brand-required programs, safety training, and leadership development.
Lead the hotel’s onboarding process to ensure new hires feel welcomed, prepared, and informed.
Ensure all required documentation is completed, filed, and maintained accurately and confidentially, including I-9s, W-4s, performance reviews, and disciplinary records.
Conduct weekly HR meetings and collaborate with department heads to address employee needs and celebrate staff success.
Oversee employee recognition programs to build morale and foster a positive workplace culture.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation requirements, and brand safety standards.
Serve as a liaison between the property and corporate HR support team, as well as third-party benefits administrators.
Act as a champion of company culture, diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement.
Assist in organizing associate events, wellness initiatives, and community outreach programs.
Manage all benefit enrollment periods and provide guidance to employees on available benefits and programs.
Respond quickly and efficiently to associate concerns, investigations, and complaints while maintaining confidentiality and fairness.
Ensure brand HR training certifications are completed within 90 days of hire.
Prerequisites:
Proven success in a similar role within the hospitality or service industry.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Empathy, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive employee matters.
Professional appearance and approachable, confident demeanor.
Knowledge of Excel, Word, and HRIS or other Human Resources systems.
Education:
At least 2-3 years of experience as Director of Human Resources or HR Manager in a hotel setting. Preferably with a Full-Serve Hilton.
