OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR - $21.00 per hour.
Hilton Hotel & PEP experience preferred
Operations Supervisor is a hands-on position responsible for guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation.
Will oversee and model efficient and courteous service throughout the hotel in accordance with the standards of the Company. Duties of this job may be changed at management’s discretion.
Reports to: General Manager & Assistant General Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maximize guest experience and overall service.
- Responsible for maintaining Brand Standards throughout the Hotel, Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Maximize ADR and Occupancy
- Coordinate communications between Sales and Operating departments.
- Control department head schedules, expenses and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Facilities-Ensure that property meets/exceeds Brand Standards
- Ensure that Front Desk associates handle special requests properly.
- Ensure that Front Desk associates promptly respond to and resolve guest complaints.
- Ensure that Front Desk associates smile, have eye contact, and greet guests immediately.
- Ensure that Front Desk Associates maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance at all times, including uniform and nametag.
- Personally, assist Front Desk associates during peak times, breaks, tardiness, and absences.
- Review all in-coming reservations, pre-block rooms with special requests, and coordinate special requests with appropriate staff members.
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company including, but not limited to those contained in the associate handbook.
- Motivate, coach and train department supervisors; set goals and hold Department managers accountable and provide feedback, rewards, and recognition.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive professional work environment, and adhere to Company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Conducts monthly departmental meetings.
- Treat all associates with fairness, impartiality, and consistency.
- Adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including but not limited to those contained in the associate handbook.
- Work schedule necessary to supervise department, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Assist in recruiting new associates.
- Interview and select staff.
- Provide orientation and training for staff.
- Conduct evaluation of associate’s performance and provide feedback often.
- Conduct discipline and assist with termination of associates, when necessary
- Complete weekly and monthly reports
- Ensure transactions are properly documented.
- Ensure shifts are closed properly.
- Prepare Schedules
- Reconcile room discrepancies daily with Executive Housekeeper
- Respond promptly to GM, Company, and Franchise requests.
- Ensure Maintenance issues are documented.
- Maintain an adequate level of supplies.
- Properly handle and account for keys
- Be knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures and security concerns.
- Ensure protection of guests’ room numbers
- May perform similar duties as requested by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School or equivalent education required.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Operations experience in all departments with emphasis on Front Desk, Housekeeping and Maintenance
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to give and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekends and various shifts.
- Professional demeanour and appearance
- Ability to maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Must be able to lift to 20 lbs.
