What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Banquet Manager -DoubleTree Orlando East - UCF Area position at DoubleTree Orlando East - UCF Area Hotel?
- Directs the proper set-up and take down of all banquet functions.
- Directs the proper service of all food and beverage in accordance with the contractual arrangements.
- Works with Catering Director and Executive Chef to ensure proper meal counts, scheduling, preparations and quality of food.
- Records and reports monthly inventory of all banquet supplies, maintains control of all inventory, and purchases additional supplies, decorations, etc., with the approval of the Catering Director, as needed.
- Directs the proper handling, usage, and storage of all banquet equipment and supplies.
- Determine the amount of future business and workload requirements with information gathered from sales/catering department.
- Requisition required help and instruct work expectations for banquets.
- Meet with function group leaders to determine last minute changes and discuss various set-up arrangements.
- Ensure proper service to clients during the banquet.
- Ensure proper cleaning of all equipment after the function is completed.
- Supervise assigned banquet personnel: training and developing.
- Directs the proper set-up and take down of all banquet functions..
- Assist personnel in setting up a function room to the desired specifications set forth by Catering and any other duties as assigned.
- Read and interpret business records and statistical reports
- Analyze and interpret policies established by administrators
- Understand government regulations covering business operations
- Make business decisions based on facts and experience.
- Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations including the ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results
- Interact with the general public, customers, employees with composure and objectivity
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests
- Plan and organize the work of others
- Manage last-minute activity and interruptions
- Requirements include a minimum of 1 years management in event execution
- Must have working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekend and holidays
