Summary
Doug Andrus Distributing LLC is seeking a dedicated Operations Team Member to join our operations group in Idaho Falls. The successful candidate will join a team of three members who manage all aspects of trucking operations for approximately 55 drivers and tractors, ensuring seamless logistics, DOT compliance, and exceptional service for customers and drivers. The ideal candidate will be a versatile team player with strong communication and analytical skills, capable of handling a fast-paced environment and driving operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of trucking operations for a team of 55 drivers and tractors, including load keying, scheduling, booking, and updates.
Provide excellent customer service to clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring timely deliveries.
Oversee driver management, focusing on driving production and efficiencies for each driver and tractor, including monitoring performance metrics and providing support.
The ability to mentor and encourage drivers as they navigate the difficulties of OTR driving, outgoing and engaging people will excel in this position.
Monitor driver logs via Transflo and Geotab to ensure compliance with DOT Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, addressing unverified logs promptly.
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and carriers to coordinate schedules and resolve issues.
Analyze operational data using spreadsheets to identify trends, improve efficiencies, and reduce costs.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, driver activities, and operational metrics.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in trucking operations or management strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, clients, and team members.
Strong analytical skills, with a preference for proficiency in spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and good typing skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
We are willing to train outside of our industry for the right person, but this is NOT an entry-level position.
Benefits:
Competitive salary starting at $45,000–$58,000 per year, based on experience, plus the ability to earn additional for after-hours or weekend shifts.
