What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Service Technician position at Doug Smith Dealerships?
At Doug Smith Subaru in American Fork, Utah, we are looking for skilled techs. Our business is growing and we have more work than we can handle. If you have experience, your own tools and drive to make hours, this could be a great place for you. At Doug Smith Subaru our techs are paid flat rate with pay between $25.50 - $47.50 per hour, so you’ve got lots of opportunity if you have the experience to get through jobs quickly with accurate diagnosis. We’ve got space for your toolbox and lots of special tools that are Subaru specific to help you out. We also have a shop foreman with 35 years experience and our service manager has over 17 years of tech experience as well, so you’ll have lots of support as you learn and grow in the Doug Smith family. Though Subarus are the majority of the vehicles that we see here, as a dealership that is buying and selling more and more used cars, we have the opportunity to work on many other makes and models as well.
We expect that our techs are able to accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on vehicles and communicate those findings with our service advisors. Our techs should also be able to properly document their findings, problem solve and execute a proper repair and keep up on training for new vehicles and the concerns that we might have with them.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has at least 5 years of automotive tech experience, Has their own tools, (we have Subaru special tools) Is emissions certified in Utah County, and is passionate about delivering high quality workmanship.
You’ll need to have a clean driving record and to be able to pass a drug screen.
