The Maintenance Manager oversees all aspects of facility and equipment maintenance to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the food manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for leading the maintenance team, managing preventive maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and minimizing downtime to support production goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; food/beverage industry highly preferred.
- 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, PLCs, HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, and compressed air systems.
- Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP, SQF, FDA/USDA regulations).
- Experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call support when needed.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Manage and lead the maintenance department, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of maintenance technicians.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to maximize equipment uptime and lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with food safety regulations, GMPs, OSHA standards, and company policies.
- Oversee installation, repair, and upgrades of equipment, utilities, and building systems.
- Maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for accurate tracking of work orders, parts inventory, and maintenance records.
- Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality departments to support plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, including parts inventory, vendor contracts, and capital projects.
- Support regulatory, third-party, and customer audits; lead corrective actions as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and efficiency through data analysis and team engagement.
