Real Property Data Collector

Description

The Dougherty County Tax & Tag Department is hiring for a Real Property Data Collector. The purpose of this position is to locate non-taxable properties listed in the Dougherty County Real Property Digest.

This class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures but determines how or when to complete tasks.

Essential Tasks

• Measures and collects information related to the construction of structures and entering that data into the automated appraisal system to produce a fair market value of the property.
• Reviews exempt property status to determine if resident is nontaxable.
• Addresses the Board of Tax Assessors in regards to exempt properties
• Compiles sorts and verifies accuracy of data before it is entered and stores completed documents in appropriate locations.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year of specialized training equivalent of one (1) year of college.
• Six (6) month of clerical support experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Supplemental Information

Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

• Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of mechanical or electronic office or shop machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.

Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

• Involves routine and frequent exposure to:

o Bright/dim light; Dusts and pollen.

o Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.

o Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.

Special Certifications And Licenses:

• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
