What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Worker position at Dougherty County?
The Dougherty County Jail is hiring for a Warehouse Worker. The purpose of this position is to ensure jail inmates have clean uniforms and linen. Responsible for supervising work details that distribute and retrieve laundry.
This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences
• Supervises the activities of inmate details that collect, wash, dry, fold and redistribute laundry items.
• Separates, inspects, and counts laundry items. Removes items that have defects and reports any damage to supervisors.
• Maintains inventory of chemicals and supplies.
• Monitors performance of commercial washers and dryers.
• Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
• Performs related work as assigned.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One (1) year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
• Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or exceptional skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving very close tolerances or limits of accuracy.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment): Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.

Special Certifications And Licenses:
• Must possess and maintain a valid state commercial driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
• General Requirements, Basic Jail Officer Certification and/or Georgia Peace Officer Certification
