Job Title: CNC Operator Assistant
Department: Production
Organizational Relationship: Reports directly to the Area Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time Onsite
Shift: 1st Shift Monday – Friday (7a-3:30p) Overtime may be required based on customer needs and deadlines. (Occasional weekends)
Job Description: Performs a variety of CNC operations as required by the customer and/or for production. The following are the duties and responsibilities of the CNC Operator – either preformed directly and/or via subordinates: Preparing and operating CNC machines to preform specifically defined tasks (drilling, grinding, milling, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of specifications, drawings and blueprints with the objective to achieve desired results
- 5 Axis Router (Motion Master) and 3 Axis Router working knowledge
- Maintain the ability, with limited to no supervision, to translate instructions and enter certain commands to enable machines to perform the acceptable function
- Set machines to complete full cycle of fabrication
- Basic understanding of computer programing and CAD
- Quality assurance and understanding of raw materials as well as dimensional measurements
- Nonconformity detection, identification of cause and corrective action recommendation
- Assist with essential services of maintenance, cleaning, waste disposal and recycling
- Assist in maintaining proper inventory, ordering and scheduling
- Evaluate in-process risks and develop methods of improvement
- Assist in efforts to reduce scrap and rework costs
- Organize infusion work area, maintain a clean environment and plan the necessary tasks required to meet or exceed expectations.
- Understand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or management

- Basic mathematical skills

- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
- Meeting production schedules
- Knowing chemicals, their dangers, safety procedures, mixing procedures and time limits
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Follow safety and health standards – use of protective equipment as required
- Ability to work 8 hour day shifts (sitting, standing, bending and reaching) and moderate lifting up to 50 lbs. Some shift work required.

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior marine industry machining is a plus
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English
