What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stockroom Associate position at Dougherty Manufacturing?
Job Description: The Stockroom Associate will be involved in all aspects and functions of the Stockroom / Warehouse along with maintaining and improving the processes of the department. This individual will be responsible to ensure timely delivery of products to both internal and external customers, working with Supply Chain and Manufacturing departments.
- Strong customer service skills to help troubleshoot and problem solve shipment issues in a timely manner
- Preparing and verifying documents, such as, bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials
- Utilizes FedEx and UPS software, plus carrier web sites to process shipments, obtain freight quotes, and track shipments
- Maintains shipping / receiving files for accuracy and accessibility. Utilizes computer systems for planning, analysis, execution, and documentation of shipping / receiving activities
- Monitor daily consumable material usage, fulfilling daily requests
- Process receiving paperwork into ERP system verifying GL accounts and distribute to Accounting Department
- Work with Accounting Department to research discrepancies in receiving, billing, etc.
- Logistics for shipping crates, RMA’s, etc., both inbound and outbound
- Pull production kits and deliver to production line
- Perform regularly scheduled cycle counts
- Pull and deliver back orders as received to the production line
- Ensure Stockroom security by enforcing the policy set in place
- Allocation of materials, both incoming and outgoing, with proper documentation for each transaction
- Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area
- Use resources effectively
- Works with management on other assigned duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in shipping/receiving.
- Two to five years experience in warehouse preferred.
- Prior marine industry machining is a plus
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to Speak, read, and write in English
Additional Skills, Physical Requirements, and Competencies:
- Forklift certified
- Knowledge of shipping documentation to include BOLs, export paperwork requirements, UPS/FEDEX processing, invoicing
- Knowledge of transportation requirements for shipping and receiving product into and out of plant
- Demonstrates experience developing and executing training in continuous improvement in parallel with plant initiatives
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills
- Resolve difficult issues between associates and have self-awareness to monitor actions and others' perceptions while driving change
- Sustainability: ensure changes are fully integrated into the organization through follow-up, perseverance and consistency
- Has ability to quantify actions and recognize opportunities in situations
- Demonstrated excellent analytical and logical thinking to understand and analyze complex business processes
- Must be proficient with MS Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP software
- Follow safety and health standards – use of protective equipment as required
- Available for overtime as needed
