What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool Cleaning Technician position at Douglas Aquatics?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CPO Pool cleaning Technician is responsible for the weekly maintenance of commercial, maintenance only facilities contracted by the Commercial Pool Operations Department.
· Prepare and load work vehicle with chemicals, parts, and equipment needed on a daily as needed basis.
· Maintain the cleanliness of all commercial, maintenance only facilities, to include: Skimming the pool; vacuuming the pool; testing water chemistry; balancing the water; backwashing the filtration system; cleaning the hair strainer basket; cleaning the skimmer baskets; trash/debris pick-up on deck; bathroom sanitation, trash pick-up, and stocking of janitorial supplies.
· Conduct full water chemistry analysis to calculate Saturation Index bi-weekly.
· Monitor chemical usage and report quantities weekly.
· Ensure chemical controllers are functioning properly and maintenance performed every two weeks.
· Ensure chemical timer pumps are functioning properly and calibrated every week.
· Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the pump and chemical room/s.
· Attend weekly meetings with management and provide updates as requested.
· Maintain daily activities and reporting in the Maintenance Technician Log-Book.
· Sales and client relations.
Additional Responsibilities:
Specific Off-Season Duties
· Assist with facility openings and closings as needed.
· Coordinate with subcontractors as needed.
Specific In-Season Duties
· Support commercially managed facilities beyond maintenance only as needed.
· Perform minor repairs of pump and filtration system as needed (example: valve changes, skimmer basket replacement, injector fitting replacement/installations).

· Strong data management skills.
· Ability to organize, prioritize and complete tasks to maximize total time available.
· Effective in verbal and written communication.
· Ability to work cooperatively or independently.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
· Recommended to be CPO Certified.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Graduate with some higher education preferred.
· Experience working with and supporting a team in a professional environment.
· At least two years of pool operations experience desired, but not required.
