The Recording Technician I is a technical and administrative position responsible for input, retrieval and quality control of permanent land records documents, examination and acceptance of passport applications, and marriage and civil union licenses and applications. The technician supports the citizens, team members, Lead Techician, and management in performance of duties, and adheres to all County policies and procedures, all state laws, and all Federal policies and regulations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.)

- Processes electronic documents and completing eRecording in compliance with state statute and office policy.
- Performs creation of permanent images of recorded documents in the Official Public Records using desk and large format scanners as well as acceptance of digital images submitted electronically.
- Reviews on-line marriage/civil union license information and determines sufficiency for issuance of licenses.
- Monitors the execution all oaths and forms in compliance with state statute, best practices and office policies for marriage and civil union licenses
- Records subdivision and land survey plats as needed.
- Receives, scans, and updates the Monument Records book with Monument Record files received from the Department of Local Affairs.
- Demonstrates appropriate questioning techniques, using available resources, and meeting Department expectations on excellent customer service.
- Review and accept new passport applications according to Federal guidelines and requirements
- Complete mailing and tracking of passport envelopes to secured mail site.
- Live out the competencies outlined in the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, maintaining a supportive environment conducive to teamwork.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of business operations, statutory compliance and department needs.

- All Clerk & Recorder employees may be required to work in the Elections Division in any capacity that is needed during election cycles.
- High school diploma or GED Certificate is required
- One year of experience in a clerical or customer service field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities preferred
- A combination of education and experience may be considered
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:
- U.S. Citizen. Sworn as agent of Clerk & Recorder’s Office to discharge the duties conveyed by CRS 30-10-406; registered with the Secretary of State
- May be required to obtain Passport Acceptance Agent Certification and maintain it annually
