The goal of this department is to increase the awareness and number of persons reached in this educational process.
In 2008, The Douglas County Health Department opened the doors to its own Dental and Health Clinic. The clinic and the addition of on-site lab processing capabilities has allowed the health department to better serve the community.

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor/Licensed Clinical Social Worker Job Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team! We are working with local schools to have mental health providers in their schools. In this position, you will meet with clients, analyze their mental health status, and develop a course of therapy to address their issues. You may work with clients who have substance abuse issues, depression, anxiety, or eating disorders. You should have some experience with a wide variety of patients and conditions. Our ideal applicant has a master's degree in psychology or social work and a license from the state. Clinical experience is also a requirement.
Licensed Professional Counselor Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet with patients to determine their status
- Develop a course of therapy for treatment.
- Meet with patients regularly and provide them with the tools they need to overcome their issues.
- Provide references to other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists.
Licensed Professional Counselor Requirements and Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a similar field
- State counseling license
- Clinical experience
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and listening skills
- Ability to use telehealth platforms effectively (up to 50% of working time)
