Consolidated Fire District #1, a combination department serving a population of approximately 10,000, is now accepting applications for a 6-month pool for paid, full time Firefighter positions.
JOB DESCRIPTION: As a CFD #1 Firefighter, you will be required to work both independently and as a member of a team to provide life safety, property preservation, and medical care. This position also participates in fire prevention and inspection activities, equipment and station maintenance, public education, and training. This position will also complete other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 18 years of age at time of application
- Valid Kansas Driver’s License and insurable through CFD #1 Insurance.
- High School Diploma or GED
- IFSAC F/F 1 with ability to obtain F/F 2 within 12 months of hire
- Nationally Registered or State of Kansas Certified Emergency Medical Responder with ability to obtain Emergency Medical Technician within 12 months of hire
- NIMS 100, 200, 700
WORK ENVIROMENT: Candidates shall have the ability to perform all functions associated with fire suppression, EMS, Station/equipment maintenance as assigned. Effective communication and leadership skills with ability to work independently. Candidates will be able to maintain effective working relationships with members of the organization, outside agencies, and the citizens of the community. COMPENSATION: The starting salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. The starting salary range for this position is $12.66 - $26.59 per hour. Pay and benefits will be discussed during initial interview. CFD #1 offers an excellent benefit package, including:
