What are the responsibilities and job description for the Zoning Technician position at Douglas County, KS Government?
Douglas County is now accepting applications for Zoning Technician within the Zoning and Codes Department. This is an administrative, non-supervisory position that works with customers to process zoning and building permit applications, provides office support for the department, and serves as a resource for knowledge of Douglas County zoning regulations and practices.
Ideal candidates will be skilled at problem solving, customer service, and all forms of communication. Knowledge of document processing, spreadsheet management, and basic office procedures is essential. Required qualifications include an Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, OR two to three years of related experience or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. An ICC Zoning Inspector Certification is required within one year of employment. Applicants must pass a background check and possess a valid driver’s license. Minimum starting salary is $24.79/hr, depending on qualifications, with excellent benefits that include:
