The position will staff food concession stands at various events within the Douglas County Fairgrounds Complex.
Essential Job Duties:
NOTE: A pool is being established of on-call food service workers to staff food concessions at various events.Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of coursework, experience and/or training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. A Food Handler's Certificate must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Desirable Qualifications: Specific knowledge or experience related to assigned department or program area; experience working with the public.
Physical Demands: Work is performed in a confined, noisy, crowded kitchen environment. May require wearing gloves, bending, color identification, crouching, gripping hands and fingers, hearing voice conversation, kneeling, occasionally lifting/carrying up to 60 pounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, standing long periods, stooping, twisting body, and walking. The work setting may include exposure to cleaners, dust, solvents, grease, water, pollen, fumes, outside temperature extremes and may require working shifts.Background Investigation: While not part of initial applicant screening, the finalist for this position may be required to pass a criminal history background check as part of a contingent offer of employment. Conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual from employment.

- Stock and set up concession stands, assist in preparing, cooking and serving food.
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, grills, counters, equipment and floors.
- Inventory supplies before and after each event.
- Assist public and other employees in answering routine questions and providing readily available information.
- Providing courier or errand service between locations within the complex.
- Perform unskilled laboring tasks.
Requires regular and consistent attendance.
