Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Perform various duties in the installation, repair and maintenaince of District irrigation systems.
Maintain grounds areas and playgrounds in a clean, orderly and safe condition; identify and address safety issues and report hazards to appropriate personnel; respond to emergency grounds maintenance needs as requested.
Mow, edge and trim all District sites to maintain uniform, orderly appearance of sites.
Repair concrete and asphalt to ensure safety and prevent additional damage.
Lay out and stripe athletic fields in a timely manner, according to district specification.
Ensure all playground work order repair requests are performed on time and documented to District safety practices, policies and procedures.
Perform welding needed for installation, repairing and maintenance of signage, fencing and playground equipment repair and other tasks where required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Utilize equipment to prepare grounds areas for landscaping and construction including rough grading and finish grading, moving dirt, backfilling and loading trucks, tree and stump removal, overseeing, fertilizing, aerating and rototilling, irrigation trenching, digging holes for water main repairs, drilling holes and utilize tractor attachments as the job demands.
Complete daily work orders as assigned; post hours, work performed and costs in the District work order system to assist with accurate reporting of maintenance costs.
Operate a variety of complex equipment used in the maintenance and construction of designated grounds such as backhoes, tractors, rototillers and large trucks.
Operate and maintain plow equipment, sanders and District vehicles on District property.
Provide snow removal on call with varying work shifts on short notice, including nights and weekends or before/after regularly scheduled shift to ensure safety and normal operation of sites.
